WHO ARE WE?
The Winnipeg Association of Non Teaching Employees (W.A.N.T.E.) was certified on September 15, 1980. The road to certification began with the Clerks committee and through their hard work and research the Association was formed to represent Clerical Staff and Educational Assistants working within the Division.
The objects and purposes of the Association are to:
- Unite into one organization all non-managerial and non-teaching employees and to act as a bargaining agent for employees.
The Association currently represents approximately 1700 support staff which include:
- Adult Crossing Guards
- Clinical Assistants
- Computer Technicians
- Educational Assistants
- Food Coordinators
- Home Learning Assistants
- Interpreters
- Library Technicians
- Secretarial and Clerical Staff
- Vocational Trainers
- Work Experience Coordinators
